| The 6th International Symposium on Impact Engineering continues the primary objective of the ISIE series, to provide a forum for the presentation of recent progress in Impact Engineering and its related fields, both in terms of fundamental research and industrial applications. It aims to facilitate and provide opportunities for scientists and engineers to exchange knowledge and establish avenues for cooperation and collaboration. This symposium is focused on experimental, theoretical and computational aspects of impact response of dynamic systems and structures as well as the behaviour of materials at high rates of strain. Application of this technology, such as impact damage to equipment, car crashworthiness analyses, bio-engineering and impact damage absorbing technologies will be prominent themes. Previous symposia in this series have been held in Sendai(1992), Beijing(1994), Singapore(1997), Kumamoto(2001) and Cambridge(2004). |
